Before it was 2019's One Piece: World Seeker, a semi open-world action-adventure game developed by Ganbarion that received mixed reviews. The last One Piece game to release was 2020's One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 from Koei Tecmo, a spin-off of the Dynasty Warriors/ Musou series.
But that could be about to change, as One Piece Odyssey, a new RPG based on the manga series, has just been announced.
While games like the Pirate Warriors franchise have seen success and been regarded by fans, One Piece games generally do not meet the level of attention as games from other manga franchises despite the series' worldwide popularity. Despite this, the series' video game spin-offs have never received the same praise as other manga franchises such as Dragon Ball and Naruto. One Piece is and continues to be one of the biggest media franchises in the world, with its original manga alone being the best-selling manga series of all time.
